Aqua and Purple look – a FOTD

There wont be many pictures of this look as I look like a complete nut in them. I hate taking photo’s of myself, I don’t know what happens, I seem to loose control of my eyes and end up looking totally crazy. Well I don’t think that I look like a nutcase 100% of the time, but maybe that’s just me being delusional….

I’ll admit this isn’t my greatest blending here but it is my absolute favourite colour combination for eye shadows.

Anywhoo onto the products I used and the least crazy looking photo’s!

Turban a DIY Tutorial

diy turban finishedThis will be the first of two ‘turban’ tutorials, the second will be coming up and will be a turban style headband. But first up (below) I’ll be showing you how to make a ‘hat’ style turban.

I lightened the pictures as using back material for a DIY wasn’t exactly one of my better idea’s, I really should have used one of the many coloured jersey materials I have lying around or at least a different coloured thread so the steps were clearer. But like I said in my previous DIY a lot of the time I just get a thought of making something and that’s that!

So anyways onto the tutorial.

What you need-

a piece of Material, or an old Tank Top (which is what I used)

(I didn’t measure so basically when the material is folded over it just has to be too big to go around your head)

Cotton & Thread (although I used black fishing line)

From Tired to Christmas Party Ready / Products and Photo’s

gold eyeliner with rhinestones

I know this look isn’t super original (red and gold for the holidays, who would have thought!?!). But I think it turned out pretty well considering how dead tired I looked at the start! Oh and in the photo’s you’ll notice a black mark in my fringe, its mascara (don’t ask). Also sorry its not completely clear, I moved the zoom and didn’t notice I was too far away until it was way too late, (like after I edited). (more…)

Mehron Celebre HD Cream Foundation a Review

MehronHDFoundationOver the past few months I’ve used this foundation numerous times and it fast became a new favourite, the Mehron Celebre HD Pro Cream Makeup.

Applied with a damp sponge or foundation brush the foundation itself is easy to blend and build up to a level of coverage you desire. I also find it works as a regular concealer quite well too. The only time I have actually used a concealer with it is a salmon one under my eyes, it disguises everything else with ease. The end result, a semi-dewy glow (un-powdered of course) which lasts quite a few hours before touch-ups are needed (unless the weather is particularly hot). It also photographs beautifully! (more…)

Dramatic Red & Purple Tutorial / Products & Photo’s

eyesSometimes I just feel like using everything in sight, as you can see this was one of those nights.

Before filming I knew I wanted to use some products from Illamasqua’s Theatre of the Nameless collection (Berber pigment and Kontrol Lipstick) and I can’t seem to put the Sugarpill products down so they were an inevitable inclusion.

Like I mentioned in the video for most this is completely un-wearable possibly even for fancy dress but hopefully some parts will be of use in some way.

So with all of that out of the way onto the tutorial, (products and pictured are listed below). (more…)

Galaxy Shoes a DIY Tutorial

I love crafts, and I always had the intention of including easy DIY projects into the blog but it was never something I thought about before making something. So this is my first, (hopefully I’ll think it through a bit more next time and get better pictures!).

Originally I was going to completely cover these high heels in studs but last night I changed my mind and decided to ‘paint’ them instead.

This is a great way of using up those old bottles of nail polish, (if you are anything like me you probably have plenty!)

STEP 1:

Gather your materials

Old gluggy nail polish in your chosen shades

(you can use fabric paints but these polishes are getting to the point of being un-useable and I thought it was a great way of finishing them off)

Paint Brush

Sponges (optional)

Glitter

Glitter Glue

A Bair of Fabric Shoes

(the fabric will kind of absorb the paint and is less likely to chip than if the were patent leather)

Death Rays

It’s no secret these days that sun tanning not only causes serious skin cancers but also pre-mature aging. Hence the rise of so many fake tanning products now available and SPF being added to our makeup. For some reason even with all these ‘safer’ alternatives slip, slop, slapping just isn’t cool.

Living in the “sunshine state’, so close to the beach, I see people tanning in the sun or solariums constantly.

I myself aren’t much of a tanner, I quite like my moon tan but on the odd occasion I do apply a light gradual tanner ( my choice: Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion RRP$10.52) to kind of even out my freckles, or to make my legs look a little less ‘transparent’. If I’m feeling a little more daring as rare as it may be, I may go on step further and apply an all over tan. I’ve had pretty good results with SugarBaby Suntanned Sweeties Golden Glamour ($RRP19.95 AUD) it’s a spray can type tan) and I’ve heard many great reviews of St Tropez tanners.

*When choosing a fake tan its best to choose one that states that it has an ‘olive’ (green) tint as you are more likely to want an island chic glow rather than a Sunkist orange, (if you get my drift).
