IMATS 2012 Haul

by Madame B Fatale on November 4, 2012

I don’t know why but I actually really despise the word haul but for lack of a better word there it is. I didn’t go as crazy bananas shopping at IMATS 2012 as I was expecting, I had saved up a lot more cash but I was surprisingly reserved with my spending. That being said there are a lot of things I wish I had of bought and a few things I wish I bought more of. First up I wish I had the patience to line up at Inglot but the crowds were insane and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to buy because I’ve hear so many great things about the brand I didn’t know where to start! But onto my purchases.

red cherry blync lashes la splash liners

Blync Lashes had a special on Red Cherry Lashes 6 for $20 I just couldn’t pass up and the three LA Splash Glitter Liners were love at first site and only $7.95 each! (Top to bottom: Eclipse, Golden Sea and Pink Sparkles)

mac make up for ever pm studio

I also finally bought MAC Face & Body Foundation which I have been wearing almost daily and I’ve found its a great ‘base’ for those times I want a bit more coverage and I pair it with a cream foundation. The Make Up For Ever items I purchased were two of the Aqua Rouge in #9 and #8 plus an eyebrow pencil in #4. I wish I had of bought a few more of the Aqua Rouge Lipsticks and the aqua eyebrow as well. The lipstick are absolutely divine and the brow pencil has been my HG since.

brushes royal langnickel crown brush

Next up I bought more brushes and at those incredibly cheap prices I should have gotten more. The Royal & Langnickel Super Foundation brush has easily been my favourite brush purchase and I will be buying another. The Crown brushes I actually ordered when I got home because I forgot to get them on the day. The Crown brush store is actually in my area so they arrived really fast. The angled foundation brush has been great for contouring with foundation.

mehron blush cheek cream celebre hd foundation

My last purchases were from Mehron and I had to have them delivered (for free) because the stock hadn’t arrived in time for the show. I originally ordered the Celebre HD Foundation (see my review here) and the Cheek Cream in Berry Blush plus a Mojave blush but they actually sent me the entire blush palette instead of the single Mojave Blush which was incredibly nice of them! I have been a fan of Mehron products for quite some time and these have been no exception.

So that’s what I bought, I guess I did get quite a few things but everything was so reasonably priced I guess I felt like it wasn’t much!

Did you go to IMATS, what did you buy? Any recommendations for products to check out at Inglot?

Great makeup kit you got there! I love the brushes that you use, btw, I also use The Mac Face and Body Foundation as the base of my makeup and it looks great! I haven’t been in IMATS, but with this review I might check it out.

Great goodies. I have a couple of those LA Splash liners and they’re great. I like the look of those MUFE lippies too.

I went to IMATS with my sister-in-law and I didn’t go as crazy as I thought I would. It was a lot smaller than previous years and we managed to see everything under 2 hours!?

I got Royal & Langnickel brushes which I went crazy for. I really wanted the MAC Face & Body foundation but the stall was too packed so I didn’t bother looking let alone queuing up! This was the same for Inglot.

I did manage to squeeze through MUFE but only managed to get away with a primer as trying for foundations was hopeless, too many people taking way too long to trying on stuff.

I’ve learnt now after going for a few years, if you know what you want and your shades, IMATS is fantastic. If you’re trying brands/ shades for very first time, don’t bother, too many people to even swatch let alone be served properly.

Having said that, it won’t stop me from going every year 🙂

Love your “haulage”. Will check out Mehron.
