Knight Sam McKnight created the following look “The New Nothing” for Angelo Marani’s Autum /Winter 10’ Milan show. Inspired by both the New York East Village girl’s and Patti Smith.
"It’s about naturally healthy looking hair, shampooed, conditioned and left to dry."
Starting with fresh and clean hair, using Pantene’s Volume & Body Shampoo and Conditioner. Then combing through a small amount of the Volume and Body Magnifying Mousse,
then Knight suggests
“For girls with really curly hair, we blow dried it slightly, just to leave some texture, and for girls with straight hair we added a small amount of movement and texture using tongs," says Sam. Instead of a defined parting, the hair was left to fall naturally. "
If you are strapped for time and need your hair ready faster, I would suggest after applying mousse blow dry hair up-side down running your fingers through it to ‘tousle ‘ it up a bit. When your hair is dry flip your head back and let it fall naturally. If your hair gets frizzy as soon as it see’s a hair drier (like mine) you may then want to follow with a light anti-frizz or shine spray.
I love this look because a: it’s easy (really anyone can do it), and b: I feel its going to be a cute way to toughen up your trans-seasonal wardrobe eg. Floral dress and biker jacket combo.
