Finally I have swatches of all of the new(ish) Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer’s, I had actually been waiting for these to hit our shores for a while and they have been on high rotation in my bag since they arrived in my letterbox.
Generally I get 3 hours out of the lighter shades and about 4-5 hours on the brighter ones, with shine really fading at 1-2 hours for both. I would say this is average for me with a liquid lip type product that isn’t a long wearing formula. These do leave lip marks, but not all the colour comes off at once. The Apocalips feel smooth and rather light on the lips, very comfortable to wear, and as long as I don’t apply too much I don’t have any feathering issues. Great bendy doe foot applicator with a little dip in the middle that actually does scoop out the perfect amount for me. They retail at $15.95 and I have seen them on sale at Priceline quite a bit so you’ll no doubt get them cheaper.
The below swatches are straight from the tube with the applicator. (Sorry these aren’t spectacular I have massive issues photographing my lips!)
The first three are the palest of the range-
Easy to wear on its own on the go or in the middle of the lip over the other shades.
Quite possibly the perfect light nude shade for me without looking like I’ve got concealer lips.
A almost peach nude, I love this colour but it does make my teeth look a little on the yellow side. It has also grabbed on the drier areas of my lips a few times.(note; this is the only shade that does this to me)
The next two are my favourite ‘my lips but better’ kind of nude shades. These have been in my bag the most for times when I have to quickly whip something on.
Very similar to my own lip colour but you guessed it better and it has a bit of a sparkle too!
A little rosier than Solstice and no shimmer.
The next three are my absolute favourites, shock right!?! Perfect to brighten up a cool day and will be great for the coming summer months! (Now all I have in my head is winter is coming, I just recently watched all of the available seasons of Game Of Thrones so its on my mind)
The main shade of the collection (you may have seen Kate Moss wearing it in the advertising photo’s), it’s a stunning bright fuchsia.
Is a rosy bubble-gum pink and probably a bit easier to wear than Apocaliptic and Stellar for most people.
I’ve fallen in love with, an almost neon coral red that doesn’t make my teeth look horrid and really packs a punch.
I’ve started to love quite a few Rimmel products lately, especially for the prices.
What’s your favourite shade?
Disclosure these were sent to me from Rimmel for review/trial purposes.
