88 Warm Colour Eye Palette – a Review

More than likely you’ve seen the 88 Warm Colour Eye Palette all over  blogs and YouTube for a while now, today I’m going to share my thoughts on the palette that was sent to me by Crown Brush Australia.

88 Warm Colour Eye Palette

88 Warm Colour Eye Palette from Crown Brush Australia

  •        When worn over a primer the majority of the shadows are well pigmented and easy to blend
  •        Great selection of wearable shades from light, mid, to dark tones.  So the 88 warm colour palette is ideal for not only makeup beginners but enthusiasts as well.
  •         Nice slim black packaging and I would take this with me whilst travelling as I can easily create many different eye looks from the one palette.
  •         Has a built in mirror.
  •         Very affordable at $35 AUD and because of the sheer amount of shadows the palette will last a very long time.
  •      The sponge applicator, why do any brands include these. I very rarely find them useful other than for swatches.
  •        There were a few of the darker shades that I got a bit of fallout from, but if I do my eyes first and being more careful when I’m laying down the shadow on my eye this can be helped.

Although I’m not likely to run  through all the shadows a problem I find with these palette is I’m likely to find favourites and I can’t repurchase them unless I buy a whole new palette if I run through them. But I suppose at such a low price that’s not too bad!

So with great colour payoff, easy to wear colours, affordable price, and nice slim packaging I would definitely purchase the palette.

Price: $35 AUD RRP

Must Haves for Summer: Bright Lips

Makeup wise I can’t think of anything that screams summer to me more than bright lips. I know some people would argue and say bronzer but to me (being on the paler side) it’s always bright lips.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer’s – Lip swatches and review

Finally I have swatches of all of the new(ish) Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer’s, I had actually been waiting for these to hit our shores for a while and they have been on high rotation in my bag since they arrived in my letterbox.

Generally  I get 3 hours out of the lighter shades and about 4-5 hours on the brighter ones, with shine really fading at 1-2 hours for both. I would say this is average for me with a liquid lip type product that isn’t a long wearing formula. These do leave lip marks, but not all the colour comes off at once.  The Apocalips feel smooth and rather light on the lips, very comfortable to wear, and as long as I don’t apply too much I don’t have any feathering issues. Great bendy doe foot applicator with a little dip in the middle that actually does scoop out the perfect amount for me. They retail at $15.95 and I have seen them on sale at Priceline quite a bit so you’ll no doubt get them cheaper.

The below swatches are straight from the tube with the applicator. (more…)

Oxblood Lips with a Soft Cut Crease Eye–a makeup tutorial

oxblood dark red lips neutral eye makeup tuutorial

Today’s video tutorial is the look I was wearing in the Rusk Miracurl. As I mention in the video below I love dark lips and for us in the southern hemisphere its the perfect time to experiment with them. I paired the Oxblood lips with a soft cut crease eye in neutral browns to define the eye area trying not to take too much focus off the lips.

Soft and Smoky Browns–a FOTD

Another quick makeup look from my Silver Bullet Celebrity Triple Styler review. The eye look itself  is just a very soft and smoky eye and the shadows I chose were because they are in similar tones to my eye colour, just a bit softer and definitely prettier! This is a very simple look, to vamp it up for night I would most likely add a little more liner, some fluttery lashes and neaten up my brows a bit more.

Oh and I have to mention (again) how much I’m loving the Face of Australia Illuminator in Angel Mist, not only does it look absolutely divine its under $15 bucks (remeber thats cheap in Australia) and comes in a massive 50ml tube. I’ll definitely be heading out to Priceline to grab the other colours in the range! Just be careful a little goes a very long way. use too much and you may start looking like a little illuminated alien. I was going to say disco ball but the shimmer is really fine and not chunky and glittery. (more…)

I have really been on a bit of a BB cream kick lately. I haven’t been wearing too much makeup but I do appreciate something on my skin as a bit of a base some mascara and a highlighter and bronzer. Oh and of course my brows filled in, lets be honest I’m not leaving the house without those done! (more…)

Brown Smoky Eye with a Pop of Colour for Fashion Addict–product’s and pictures

Back with a  wearable makeup look tutorial for an easy brown smoky eye with a pop of colour using some products that were sent to me from Fashion Addict and some others I already had. Before I post the video I thought I’d list what I used. As usual you don’t need to have all of these products to create the look but its good to be able to compare shades. The look is fairly budget friendly too which is always a bonus in my opinion!brown smokey eye fashion addict product photos (more…)
