Side Swept Hair– Tutorial, Products and Pictures

Finally back with my latest requested video for side swept curls. This hair style looks equally great neat or messy and is a great way to show off your favourite statement earrings without having to do an up-do. Product wise I used Redken All Soft Argan-6 followed by Nak Heat beat to prep my hair before heat styling.

After my hair was prepped I used my Babyliss Pro Large Conical wand (last seen here) to curl. Once each section was curled I used bobby pins to ‘roll them up and let cool.hair curls setting (more…)

Braided Hair Bun using a Hair Donut

dress me up hair donutMy new video features and item that has been around for quite a some time but seems to be overlooked, hair padding. They have been used by hairdressers to get secure volume for formal occasions for decades but are so quick and easy to use I think everyone should give the old hair donut a go! In the following video I have used a large size Dress Me Up Hair Donut that I bought from I-glamour a little while ago with some other hair padding items to do a series on. These ones (for the large) retail at $13.95, its really something that will last for years.

This video is for more of an intricate look but if anyone is interested I can do a straight forward version of it too (minus the braiding). (I have cut my hair to my shoulders but it still covers the large size) (more…)

Indola Innova Repair Capsules – Review

About a month ago I was kindly sent a tub of Indola Innova Repair Capsules to try out, I say kindly because it was a sample sent out after the ABBW that I ended up not being able to attend. So this gift was a lovely surprise.

Its no secret that I absolutely adore hair oils, the shine and moisture I have been able to get back to my (very) over coloured hair from them has been nothing short of amazing. So when these repair capsules arrived I was rather excited to try out another type.

“Long term damage won’t repair itself, so tackle each strand from the roots with Innova Repair shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments and repair capsules. Keratin treats in 3 dimensions – the cuticle, fibre and matrix of each strand, boosting strength to promote deep, lasting shine.”

Decades Past 1970’s Inspired Hair

hairfinishedContinuing on with the 70’s inspired makeup tutorial I posted last week I have a 70’s inspired hair video for you.

In the video I used the BabylissPro C Styler which was one of the fabulous hair tools that IGlamour sent to me in the past few months to do some looks/reviews with. Full review of the C Styler will be up after I post the video on how to use it for curls and waves.

I also used BabylissPro Argon oil that I purchased to trial, One n Only Ceramic Silk Curling Iron Glaze and Schwarzkopf 10 carat shine finishing spray.

Following on from my last post I decided to really dye my hair.

Pink Hair

and why I should powder my face before taking photo’s……

I came across this article from Kevin Murphy, and thought I might as well give pigments as temporary hair dye a go (finally, I mean that picture in the article from Vogue last year was actually what made me really feel the need to dip dye my ends in the first place!).

After watching the video I had a strange urge to try it immediately as I’ve been wanting to fade pink into my blue ends for a while now but was slightly hesitant because I wasn’t sure how it’d look. This was the perfect way to test it out.

No heat – Wavy Hair

Wavy HairWorried about constant heat styling or can’t get a triple barrel waver? But like my last tutorial using the Babyliss Triple Barrel Waver*?? Well here are a few simple steps that will give you the look, just by braiding!

Step 1: Wash hair (shampoo and condition). When you’re done squeeze out extra moisture with a towel and comb through (with a wide tooth comb or pick) either a leave in conditioner or styling oil (I’m not recommending any here as I feel this is one of those personal hair type choices, you’ll probably know what’s better for you than me here!)
